Women's Sizing Guide

“Hey, does Rep The Squad carry women’s jerseys?”

“I’m a woman and I love football, how come you don’t carry jerseys for me?”

“I don’t want to be in the dog house with my wife if I only sign up myself… what size should I get for her?”

We get requests just like this on a regular basis from women all over the country (and sometimes from their significant others too). As of right now, we don’t carry women's jerseys. We hope to change that in the future, but in the meantime there is a solution: a youth jersey subscription. We’ve actually found many women (myself included) prefer the cut of youth jerseys to ones designed for women because they are a looser fit and better for layering.

Of course, it’s one thing to know we offer youth sizes as an alternative, but quite another to know which size jersey would fit you best. I totally get it and I’m here to help. We carry three youth sizes (small to large) and five adult sizes (small to XXL). So far that range has catered to most women’s needs. And if the one you pick the first time around doesn’t fit right, no worries. Just send it back and pick a different size for the next jersey in your locker.

To help you get started in figuring out which size suits your body type and personal style best, I’ve created a handy guide for women (or men shopping for them) to use as a sizing gauge. Included in the guide are photos of women in youth and regular adult jerseys because, let’s be honest ladies, we come in all shapes and sizes. The good news is, so do jerseys.

Name: Breanne
Height: 5'3"
Jersey size:
Youth Small
Women size usually worn:
 Small
Pro tip:
"Without overstating the obvious, it’s a youth jersey, so the neckline is made for children. Noteworthy because some small women may have woman-sized necks, making the neckline of the youth small a bit snug. If that’s you (or your significant other), go with a youth medium."

Name: Angie
Height: 5'4"
Jersey size:
 Youth Medium
Women size usually worn:
Small
Pro tip:
"Youth mediums are great because they look good and fit well on their own or layered with a long sleeve shirt underneath. I probably would go with a youth large for sweatshirt layering though. A sweatshirt would be to snug and probably too bulky under a youth medium."

Name: Carly
Height:
5'4"
Jersey size:
Youth Large
Women size usually worn:
Medium
Pro tip:
"The youth large fit me best in the bust area, and the way it fell around my waist gave me room to move. Definitely the most comfortable because of the way it rested best on my body without being baggy."

Name: Kemi
Height:
5'3"
Jersey size:
Adult Small
Women size usually worn:
Medium
Pro tip:
"An adult small is perfect for me as I am only 5'3" and I like that it doesn't come all the way down to my knees! It also allows for a bit more room in the bust area vs the youth sizes."

Name: Chelsey
Height:
5'4"
Jersey size:
Adult Medium
Women size usually worn:
Medium
Pro tip:
"I intentionally picked a jersey that fit a little baggy because comfort is key. When I host game day viewing parties, it’s nice to have a versatile, easy to wear jersey that looks good with jeans or leggings."

Name: Jeannine
Height:
5'8"
Jersey Size:
Adult Medium (Mitchell & Ness Throwback*)
Women size usually worn:
Large
Pro tip:
"The throwback adult medium fits pretty close to a woman’s large. Not too tight and not too loose, with just enough length to pull straight down or bunch slightly around the waist. The “retro” jersey is stylish in both looks and fit."

*Mitchell & Ness jerseys aren’t manufactured in youth or women’s cuts. They also tend to run slightly smaller than equivalent Nike jerseys at a given size.

Name: Melissa
Height:
5'7"
Jersey Size:
Adult Large
Women size usually worn:
Large
Pro tip:
"I picked the size I did because of the arm width. And length of the jersey. I didn't want it to be too bulky, but also didn’t want it to be too tight to do anything else."

Name: Brianna
Height:
5'8"
Jersey Size:
Adult XL
Women size usually worn:
XXL
Pro tip: "I really liked that the jersey didn’t bunch. It fit loose, more like a tunic would, which made it more comfortable."
